Eat, Drink and Be Scary! October 19, 2015

'Tis now the very witching time of night,
When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out
Contagion to this world.
~William Shakespeare

On Monday, October 19, Christy hosted the Women Who Wine at her house to enjoy the spooky Halloween spirits. Nine WWW ladies enjoyed a delicious and, well, sometimes gross looking lunch in keeping with Halloween! Following sipping and supping, Christy quizzed us on our knowledge of Halloween. Apparently we know as much about Halloween as we do about white wines! Ruth, Mistress of the Dark, was declared the winner for wearing the one and only Halloween costume! Love the black and blue wig! Both Ruth and Judy won prizes for counting the number of rats, EEEEK!, in Christy's house!

Many thanks to Christy for sharing her Halloween House. Her decorations are to DIE FOR!

Following the festivities, Connie cut slabs of her delicious graveyard cake for our enjoyment. Who knew Halloween could be so much fun?!

Yummy Halloween h'orderves for devouring
Connie's delightful and gruesome graveyard cake
The sickest pumpkin you'll ever see!
Courtesy of Judy - Gross! (But tasty!)
Who's under that "Wicked" shirt?
Halloween decorations everywhere!
BEWARE!

Both ravishing as always
Uh oh, did anyone check Ron's whereabouts?
Christy stumped us with a Halloween quiz!
Wh-what's that y-you say?
A quiz?! Who me?

Connie's Confection!
De - lish! Who knew thumbs were so edible?
By the Pricking on my thumbs
Something Wicked this way comes!

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'awl's neighborhood
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse's shell

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller
